DIY Captain America shirt
Captain America: The Winter Soldier releases today on DVD.   We had the pleasure of previewing the video in the theatre back in April and loved it.  If it isn’t obvious from all the superhero posts, we’re kind of a fan.  My son is a huge fan, and while he’s not old enough to enjoy the live action films we are always finding ways to support his interests.  I created these DIY Captain America shirts for a recent playdate.  It took just a couple steps and 5 minutes per shirt to create not including drying time.
Supplies:
white t-shirt
red paint
blue paint
freezer paper
sponges

Directions:
Use the attached template as a guide.  Print directly on freezer paper or use the  Cricut file to cut out for you.  You can resize for your desired shirt size.

DIY Captain America shirt steps
Iron your freezer paper shapes onto your shirt.

DIY Captain America shirt step 1
Use the sponges to dap your paint onto the shirt.

DIY Captain America shirt step 2
Allow the paint to dry to the touch before removing the freezer paper.  Leave the star in place.

DIY Captain America shirt step 4
Iron on the remaining ring and paint the interior circle blue.

DIY Captain America shirt step 4
Let the paint dry to the touch again, remove, and dry for 4 hours before wearing.  Check your fabric paint directions before laundering the first time.
