Thanks for stopping in for another fun Superhero day. Today’s craft is a super simple felt bunting. And yet another project you might have all the supplies for and/or cost a few bucks. Keeping with the theme of creative party decor that can be repurposed in a room design, I used this for Aiden’s third birthday and it now lives as a valance in his room.
Supplies:
Felt
Printouts
(Batman, Spiderman, Superman, Iron Man, Green Lantern, Captain America)
Scissors
Chalk
The printouts each have directions to help you determine what colors and where to cut. Most start with the background color and build your way up. Use chalk to outline each shape before cutting. Alternatively you can pin each shape in place and cut, but I found the chalk quicker and more precise.
Use hot glue to attach each layer. You could also be super fancy and use a sewing machine.
Make sure to enlist the help of the resident artist in the family to do the tedious work of tracing and cutting. I actually had him do all the cutting because I’m a lefty. I can never find good scissors that let me do precise cutting like this. I finally found an awesome pair of Fiskars scissors for lefty or righties.
These emblems are perfect for more than just a superhero banner. Resize the emblems to put on t-shirts, toy boxes, anything.
