DIY Cactus T-Shirt

Cactus t-shirt
Another easy DIY t-shirt idea using your Cricut and HTV (heat transfer vinyl).  I just LOVE the bright green hand drawn cactus with spines against the black and white stripes.  It gives it a fun graphic pop art design.  With cacti all the rage it seemed like the perfect summer statement shirt to make.

Checkout the post for details on how to make this DIY cactus t-shirt and grab the files for uploading to your electronic cutting machine software.

Supplies:
green apple heat transfer vinyl
cactus outline
cactus spines
shirt

Directions:
Cut out the cactus outline in green heat transfer vinyl.  This will be laid down as the first layer.  The one pictured is sized at 10″ tall.
Cut the spines out of black HTV.  My favorite is the easy weed heat transfer vinyl for small details like these tiny cactus spines.
Using an iron or heat press center the cactus cutout and press for half the suggested time, carefully remove the plastic film.
Lay the spine cutout over the pressed cactus.  Press for the full time.

Cactus t-shirt
I crafted it up just in time to wear for Mother’s Day with my new pearl bangle bracelet.  I’m all ready for summer with my DIY cactus t-shirt
