Brown Paper Packages: Gift Wrap Idea

Disclosure:  The products used in this gift wrap idea were supplied by Oriental Trading Company.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I can not believe Christmas is less than a week and a half away.  While I’ve finished MOST of my shopping, I still have all the wrapping to do. When I was browsing the Christmas section on OrientalTrading.com for craft supplies I came across the cutest buffalo plaid bags and sisal wreaths.  The buffalo plaid bags went with our tree decor and I thought the wreaths would look adorable on kraft paper wrapped packages.

So, this year I’m wrapping all my gifts in brown paper packages tied up with string, with a little added flair.  It’s super simple and affordable to put together cute packages for the holidays.

Wrapping Supplies:

Large Sisal Wreath
Small Sisal Wreath
Kraft Paper Roll
Baker’s Twine

On the larger packages I wrapped them with bakers twine and added a chalkboard (perfect as a reusable label) and large sisal wreath.

For smaller packages I ordered these tiny sisal wreaths that are just about the size of a ring.  So cute, and perfect for smaller gifts.

We usually pick one type of paper for each kid to make it easy on Christmas morning.  This same idea can be used with the kraft paper wrapping.  Tie off the wreath and chalkboard with different baker’s twine so you can tell the difference between each kid’s packages.

Do you have any holiday wrapping traditions?

Save this gift wrap idea for later. Brown paper packages are a classic wrapping idea, and the added wreath and chalkboard give them a whimsical rustic flair.

Simple and country I love it. Yes I have a wrapping tradition to extend Christmas opening I always tie curling ribbon very tight both across and long way. My son-in-law opens gifts very slowly and it drives everyone crazy except me!
