Guardians of the Galaxy Gift Wrap Ideas

Are you guys ready to #OwnTheGalaxy?  I’m finishing up Christmas shopping and I’ve got a very special gift wrap idea for the Star Lords in your life.

Guardians of the Galaxy released to Blu-Ray and DVD this week and I was first in line to make my selection. My husband and I saw the movie when it first released and my little Star Lord (my son not my husband) of course couldn’t resist getting his hands on all the merchandise.  I picked up a few things to fill a very special bag of goodies for him.  My son loves dressing up, so a complete Star Lord costume was perfect.  I used a messenger style bag to pack the costume, mask, and blaster.

The look was completed with a special Awesome Mix vol. 1 gift tag.  I printed it out on card stock, punched a hole in the top, and attached directly to the messenger bag with a piece of leather cording.  I was looking for a leather shoulder bag just like the one Star Lord carries around, but had no luck.  I opted to pass on one of my husbands old work bags.  It’s the perfect place to store his blaster and extra dart rounds.  

Since my son is a little too young to see the film I knew my husband would appreciate receiving it in his stocking.  Every year we have pretty standard stocking items; usually a movie, gift card, candy, a music gift card or CD.  I missed the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack in store so I might just have to go back to pick it up.  I know he’ll be excited to open it up and enjoy a special movie night once the kids pass out Christmas Day.  He did in fact say it was “the best Marvel film yet!”  

Walmart has a great selection of Guardians of the Galaxy toys and Blu-Ray/DVD’s.  Our 3D Blu-Ray came with an exclusive character O-sleeve, music zinepack and a 64 page magazine with cast and crew interviews, exclusive behind-the-scenes photos and trivia PLUS a custom “cassette” laptop decal.  Right now when you purchase a Groot, Drax or Rocket Raccoon figure for Disney Infinity 2.0 from 12/7 – 12/13, you’ll receive a $5 Walmart gift card at checkout.
