DIY Harry Potter Shirt

03/31/2017

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Thanks to Expressions Vinyl I’m bringing you another easy DIY shirt idea.  They sent us a variety of heat transfer vinyl to get creative with.  This is just one of many more HTV shirt ideas coming to the blog in the next few weeks (months even).

The whole family is a fan of the Harry Potter universe.  So naturally my new favorite hobby, heat transfer vinyl shirts, and Harry Potter had to join forces.  My son was the lucky recipient of this shirt, but I know there will be more shirts in our future.  This is just one idea of how you can make a trendsetting Harry Potter shirt.  For even more ideas check out what my amazing friend Heather over at Brie Brie Blooms did for her family’s trip to Universal Studios and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

This is the simplest design and was a big hit with my son.  He’s quite picky about the designs he’ll wear and isn’t much into character shirts or sayings.  The subtleness of the graphic thick rimmed glasses and lightening bolt really worked for him and his style.

All you’ll need is some black HTV, a cotton t-shirt, and I recommend using a heat press to make long lasting designs.  The difference is substantial in how the design adheres to the shirt.

Grab the design as a jpeg here then upload into your favorite cutting software, size, and cut.

Press (or iron) your shirt to remove any wrinkles and burn off any sizing.

Center image where you’d like.  Press the design according to your vinyl’s directions.

Like the design?  Don’t forget to pin it for later!
