Bubble Painting with Homemade Colored Bubbles

bubble paintingSomething about this week has had us going color crazy.  Perhaps getting prepped for The Color Run this weekend.  This activity we discovered when Aiden was just a toddler.  A few notes to get you started.  Make sure to do this in the grass and not on cement.  Both the bubble catcher and bubble blower should wear either dark colors or paint clothes.  You are working with food coloring and it will dye light colored fabric.  Don’t worry if you get it on your skin though.  The bubbles let it wash right off.  We didn’t notice any staining on the skin.

Supplies:
Bubbles Food Coloring
Water Color Paper
Bubble Wand

Steps:
Mix food coloring and bubbles to desired color.

Blow bubbles while the kids catch them on their watercolor paper. For older kids they can blow the bubbles directly on the paper. My kids still love to catch bubbles. And I have to admit I love blowing bubbles. Something magical and relaxing about them.

Use different wands to create different bubbles and splatter sizes.

Then proceed to make your 4 year old laugh in any way possible.  Use preschool humor if you must.  I won’t tell you what got this kid laughing, but anything to see that smile.
