Right now you can snag specially marked boxes of Cheerios™ at Walmart AND gift a little love.  Keep an eye open for 5 varieties of Cheerios™ with the”Buy a Box. Give a Box” sticker.  Each of these specially marked boxes contains a special code that will allow you to send a box digitally, in the form of a coupon, to the person of your choosing.

I’m sure we all know someone in our life that enjoys these crunchy wholesome o’s.  When I was little I remember one thing about breakfast in our house, my brother loved cereal.  I liked it dry, but he would enjoy a huge bowl with milk every morning.  And I bet that is still the case to this day.  The cereal of his choosing? Honey Nut Cheerios™ and on rare occasions original Cheerios™ in the yellow box with a bit of sugar.

Now a second generation is enjoying Cheerios™ in our home.  And yet another house divided in the battle of dry versus milk.  We all agree though they are delicious and fun to craft and create with. Who remembers creating cereal necklaces? I can honestly say mine rarely made it home.
These specially marked boxes of Cheerios™ can only be found at Walmart for a limited time.

I know my brother would appreciate receiving a box, but this box is going to my husband.  Something to add to his snack stash at school.  For those mornings he rushes out without eating or afternoons when our son is begging for a snack after school.  That is one box of cereal that will get used.

As we’ve established in our house cereal is not just for enjoying with milk.  So I decided to try out Multi-Grain Cheerios™ in a cereal bar.  The original vision was yogurt coated bites, but let’s just say the first attempt at the coating was a fail.  Thankfully I stopped before coating all of them and salvaged the plain  blueberry multi-grain cereal bars.

As you may have heard, some select boxes of Cheerios and Honey Nut Cheerios produced over two weeks in July at the Lodi, California plant, have been recalled due to a wheat allergen.  This recall only affects consumers with Celiac disease or a gluten-sensitivity. To learn more about the recall, and if your product is affected please go to: http://blog.generalmills.com/.
