I just love the beauty in a rustic pie during the holidays.  The beauty is in the imperfect homemade crust.  My favorite part of making the pie is forming the crust.  I remember helping my mom roll out the dough, carefully laying it in the pan, folding and crimping the edges with our fingers.  These pies take on the flavor of the holiday, from mint to a classic pumpkin or pecan pie.  I’m loving the simple twists of adding chocolate, sour cream, or even ice cream.
