{Mamavation Monday} Un-Comfortable

06/12/2012

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

This pregnancy has been quite different.  With my first I was fairly comfortable up until the heartburn set in at night around 7/8 months.  This little guy has been creating quite the fuss.  It seems the only way I’m comfortable most days is standing or sitting in an office chair.  Car rides are beginning to take their toll and sleeping is a whole other issue.  Not sure what to expect when I’m 7 months pregnant and back for 2.5 weeks driving a long distance.
By all accounts, though, I’m having another wonderful pregnancy.  Despite the nausea in the beginning I feel fairly healthy.  I do indulge my cravings, most of the time, although they are quite rare.  Usually I crave something on the healthy side, like salad or Chipotle.  This is a new feeling for me.  Normally my cravings were filled with pizza, candy, sweets, chocolate (I did want a good piece of chocolate cake the other night).
It’s hard to remember what the weight gain was like with my last little man.  I know I had a total gain of 20-25 lbs, but I can’t remember when the bulk went on.  I have been surprised a few times stepping on the scale at the doctors, but I know my body is doing what it needs to.  What I need to prepare for is loosing the weight after delivery and maintaining a healthy diet.  I’ve said it before, but I can’t wait to have a cold turkey sandwich.  I’m a creature of habit and enjoyed having this at lunch on alternating days.  Most days I’m trying out different kinds of salads for lunch.  They are so refreshing in the hot AZ summer.
I think the best way for to keep up the motivation is joining a group.  Wether it be a mom’s group, so I can get out of the house and move, or an exercise group, like stroller strides.
