This chef Mickey apron and hat have been a favorite for many years. They fitted right into the theme of my oldest’s 2nd birthday and the perfect gift. The mitt’s were a gift from his Grandma for that Christmas to go with his kitchen. Made so simple with store bought apron and chef’s hat.
Supplies
apron
chef hat
red & yellow rikrak
black thread
white felt
Mickey patch
red quilted fabric
Mickey ribbon
Directions
For the apron, cut two circles from the white felt, and yellow rikrak the length of the top of the apron. Using black thread zigzag stitch your felt circles onto the apron just below half way. Use a straight stitch in the black thread to sew the rikrak on.
Measure red and yellow rikrak the circumference of the chef’s hat. Sew using a straight stitch with black thread. Iron on the Mickey patch over the decorative trim.
Grab a pair of mittens that fit your kiddo or use their hand to draw an outline for the oven mitt(s). Flip your pattern or draw the opposite hand to create 2 sides. Make sure when you cut to add an inch for the seam and so it fits loosely. Sew the decorative ribbon onto one side of the mitt. Sew wrong sides together, flip and voila.
