Jute Monogram Letter

I have wanted to try my hand at wrapping a chipboard letter for a while.  I love how rustic and versatile they are.  This particular “I” found a home in my precious niece’s nursery.  It doubled as decor for my sister’s shabby chic shower too.

With just a few supplies you have an easy customized craft.  Perfect hanging on a door as a monogramed wreath, or wrap a few letters to send a seasonal message.  I’d love to have JOY sitting atop our mantel for Christmas.  
Supplies:
chipboard letter
jute
hot glue
embellishments (optional)

Directions:

1. Secure the end of your jute with hot glue.
2. Wrap lengthwise around the letter, making sure to keep your jute tight.  Push your layers together so no gap remains.
3. Cover the ends by spiraling your jute and securing with hot glue.  
4. For longer sides zig zag the jute and secure with hot glue.  
5. Add rosettes or other embellishment with hot glue.  I created my rosettes with strips of fabric and crocheted ribbon.
