There are so many ways to decorate cardboard letters. I love decoupage, as it’s easy to layer as they get older and their interests change. Joann and Hobby Lobby often have them on sale or you can wait and use a 40% off coupon making this very frugal room decor. Find paper for your Mickey decoupage letter in the scrapbook section.
Supplies:
cardboard letter
scrapbook paper
paint
Mod Podge (affiliate link)
-Tear your paper into varying sizes.
-Brush on a small area of Mod Podge to work with.
-Layer your paper, finishing with a coat of Mod Podge. I like to work with the front first and end with the sides. Leave the inside surfaces bare.
-Once the top and outsides of your letter are dry, choose an accent color to paint the inside of your letter.
-If you are hanging your letter, finish it off with a loop of twine hot glued to the back.
This is an easy craft to get the kids involved with. Let them help pick out the paper to use to compliment their room. Have little ones help tear the paper, it’s a great fine motor activity. Mod Podge is very easy to clean up. It’s water soluble and when left to dry will peel write off of little hands.
