The Day He Was Born {sponsored}

08/28/2011

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Almost 2 years ago we welcomed our little man.  It started out as a calm morning.  I was up and down every couple hours since 10pm.  As morning neared I was waking up more frequently.  As I snuck into the bathroom, trying not to wake my husband,  I grabbed my “What to Expect When Your Expecting” book and began to scour the pages for a section on “how you know you are in labor”.  Truly, I wasn’t sure as it was my first pregnancy.  I decided I better wake my husband and give my mom a call to see what she thought.

Thankfully the bag was packed and we were headed out the door, except for one small problem.  As I wasn’t ‘planning’ on going into labor for a couple more days we had to swing by my husbands school and drop off sub plans.  Then my dad was sent to my school to drop off the food for the camping trip my class was leaving on that day.  With those quick errands accomplished we headed for the hospital.

By this time the contractions were much closer and stronger.  As we waited in triage to be admitted we found out it was going to be a full house.  18 other moms decided September 22nd was a good day to have a baby.  They managed to find us a quiet room at the end of the hall and we settled in.  The next few hours were spent tracing up and down the hall working through the labor pains.

With just a little bit of excitement and urgency we welcomed my baby boy at 2:44pm!  Only a few hours of active labor and a couple pushes later, he was weighed and measured then placed into daddy’s arms.  He was so much smaller than I imagined, 6 lbs. 9.8 oz.

This small snippet is just a fraction of the memories I hold from pregnancy to birth to the first few precious days together.  Some memories are vivid while others have faded and are lost forever.

With good intentions I began a Scrapbook.  It now sits partially completed collecting dust in the craft room.  Life quickly consumes you with a newborn.  I captured my belly each month, then week as time neared due day, but there were little moments that I failed to capture through story or picture.  No intimate pictures of my husband touching my bare belly.  No time to reflect truly on the first time I felt my little guy kick.
What if there was an application out there that did the work for you?  Plug in important dates, upload a few photos, and write away.  Just as simple as the blog I’m creating now to capture the everyday moments of your little one’s journey, “The Day Baby Was Born” helps you capture the precious moments of your baby’s beginnings.

Tommee Tippee joins 21st Century social media and technology to make journaling those moments easy.  It’s all up to you and how much time you want to commit.  Create pregnancy and birth announcements directly on the site, share on Facebook and capture the love your family and friends send your way.

Journal from the day the stick turns blue to the moment you see your babies smiling face.  The Day Baby Was Born gives you one convenient place to document all those special feelings.  My favorite function is the ability to track the events that happened the day baby is born.  Why?  My one regret is amongst the excitement of welcoming our son I failed to send dad, grandma, grandpa… out to get a newspaper that day.  This was a special keepsake that is truly irreplaceable and missing from the chronicles of our sons birth.

The Day Baby Was Born makes it easy to signup using Facebook connect.  Signup and start sharing your little ones moments from the beginning.  Not sure if it’s for you?  Check out a sample story to see how beautiful your captured moments look when compiled together.  It saves as a PDF so you can easily share your special story with the world.  No need to tell your birth story to 100’s of friends and family; over and over. 🙂
