The holidays often mean welcoming a full house of family.  Putting together guest welcome baskets are a great way to provide a little comfort and welcome out of town guests.  I’ve put together these tips and ideas to prep your home and put together beautiful welcome baskets with all the essentials and a sprinkling of fun.

Have a basket on hand with all the essentials welcome your guests on arrival with everything they might need during their stay.

A throw and a new pair of cozy socks are easy additions for keeping warm.  You never know what temperature people are comfortable with.  The throw is perfect for tossing at the foot of the bed as an extra bed layer or curling up with for an afternoon nap.

Tuck in a tin of fresh baked cookies for late night snacking and some trail mix to curb early morning hunger.  A water bottle or two are also nice additions to prevent guests stumbling in the dark to find a glass of water.

Don’t forget to tuck in the TV remote, a card with the current WiFi password, and some reading material.   These small gestures will go a long way to making your guests feel welcome and their stay stress free.

For the guest bathroom you want to make sure everything your guests need are right at hand. I always pack my own shampoo and conditioner, but when I go to visit my parents I love knowing that I have a second stash on hand for quick overnights. Tuck in some trial size bottles you’ve been saving from your last getaway, a new bar of soap, and a toothbrush kit just in case.

Tie everything together with these holiday monogram labels.  It’s a bit fun having your own branded toiletries for guests. Simply download the following folder with all the labels, throw it into your favorite editing software and personalize with your own monogram.  The labels are circles, but I stretched mine into an oval to fit better on the small bottles.

Lastly, make sure to have an extra roll of toilet paper on hand, but dress it up just like the hotels do with a bit of tissue paper.  Lay your roll on top of the the festive tissue, roll, then tuck the ends into the top and bottom of the roll.

Add your fancy spare toilet paper to a sturdy container with all the toiletries and you almost have a guest bathroom worthy of guests. Next on the to-do list, cleaning.
