I was already ready to go out and buy a support band this time around when I was contacted by the company. With baby #1 it took me 2 years to loose the weight, I had a lingering fat shelf that I was uncomfortable with, and I felt like I never got back my core strength. I was motivated this time to get back to the pre-pregnancy weight quickly so I could start working towards my goal weight.
I started wearing my wrap right after delivery. For the first week I wore it day and night. As the weeks went on and I became more active I reduced when I wore it to at home and when I was sleeping. I now wear it mostly when I’m sleeping and doing chores. The reason for reducing the time I wear it? The material has began to buckle and fold and the size I ordered is almost too big. I’m at the tightest setting on the velcro and it doesn’t provide me the same support as in the beginning, a good problem to have I think.
The band is so comfortable. It really provided me the back and core support I needed. I felt like my old self right after delivery. I did get a little warm wearing it and had noticeable sweat when I removed it, but I’m sure this is part of the magic behind the band. I can see myself wearing this beyond the recommended 40 days. It’s providing the much needed back support. When I haven’t worn it during the day I do notice some back aches and tightness.
I’m crediting the belly band and nursing to my success this time around post-delivery. Just 9 days out and I had lost all but 10 pounds and was back into my pre-pregnancy clothes. I was shocked just a mere 6 days after I delivered and I was down 11 pounds already. 10 days later and I was down another 9 pounds and ditched the maternity jeans and tops.
I was so excited to bring the pre-pregnancy clothes back out so early, not so happy about all the loads of laundry. I lived in maternity jeans a year after my first son was born.
