Halloween Mason Jar Luminaries

These spooky Halloween mason jar luminaries were created with the help of items supplied by Oriental Trading Company.  I love the convenience of ordering my craft, party, and decor items online!

The start of the holiday season is officially in full swing.  In just a couple of weeks spooky ghosts, pretty princess, and superheroes will hit the streets trick or treating door to door.  We like to bring a little ghoul to our home throughout October too.  To get ready for All Hollows Eve I crafted up a few new items for our mantle.  I LOVE how these mason jar lanterns turned out.

Supplies:
Halloween mason jar decals
mason jars
Modge Podge
food coloring

Directions:
Add 1 tbsp. Modge Podge to each mason jar.

Mix 5-10 drops of food coloring to each jar depending on the intensity of the tint you want. Mix.

Move Modge Podge around the inside of the jar until coated completely.

Allow jar to drip over a cup for at least an hour.

Place jars upside down on a wax paper lined baking sheet in a warm oven (175° or less) for 10 minutes.

Flip and continue drying for an additional 20-30 minutes. The pale color will slowly dry turning into a clear tint.

Using vinyl stickers arrange your design on each jar. The vinyl stickers easily reposition and can be removed and reimagined year to year.

Turn your mantle into a spooktacular Halloween scene with the addition of these mason jars.  Nothing screams Halloween more than luminaries for me.  Imagine your driveway lined with a whole patch of pumpkins.  Re-use old baby food jars or upcycle glass jars to keep it friendly on the budget too.  Pop in a battery operated light or string of fairy lights for kid-safe holiday decor.
