This little boys imagination is never-ending. It began at about 16 months. Remember this one:
Since that day he loves using his imagination and playing pretend. One day he’s Spiderman climbing and shooting webs, the next he’s Captain Hook fighting Peter Pan and capturing Wendy.
Lately he’s really started to take on rolls and reenacting what he see’s in his favorite shows. One of our favorites is Doc McStuffins. He started walking around saying he was Dr. Aiden, so we had to get him his own medical kit. He hasn’t stopped playing with it since we bought it last week. Here he is using every tool in the bag while we were at lunch.
The other night he started setting up his own doctor office. He walked right over to me and said, “check your heart”, placing the stethoscope on my heart, then put the blood pressure cuff on to “check”. When he was finished he pulled a composition book off the desk and started to right in his doctors journal. Daddy needed a checkup too when he returned from the store.
This next one has been giving us hours of entertainment and laughs. He loves Bert from Mary Poppins. He went in and picked out this fabulous outfit complete with tails and a newsboy hat, then proclaimed himself Poppins, Aiden Poppins. Mom encouraged him to tap dance and we got to enjoy his little number for about 5 minutes. He’s dressed up like this and danced at least once a day since the first time.
I hope he never looses this imagination and desire to play pretend. Some of our other favorites are dressing like a beautiful princess and my personal favorite, Daddy. This is where he takes what daddy is wearing that day and tops it off with a pair of daddy’s shoes and his glasses.
