1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
12 oz. beer
1 Tbsp. melted butter
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
Lightly grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan
(tip: melt some extra butter for greasing, it will add extra flavor and moisture)
Mix together all-purpose flour (1 1/2 c.), whole wheat flour (1 1/2 c.), baking powder (1 Tbsp.), salt (1 tsp.) and brown sugar (1/4 c.).
Pour in beer (12 oz.), stir. The batter will be stiff.
Scrape batter into greased pan (9″x5″). Top with melted butter.
Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean.
