Easy Washi Tape Holiday Cards

Thanksgiving is less than a week away and before you know it the holidays will be here.  I don’t know about you, but I’m usually the last to get family pictures done and cards sent out.  Between work, family, and prepping for the season there just doesn’t seem to be enough time.  A couple of years ago I created ribbon tree cards and this year I’m at it again with another easy DIY holiday card.  These pulled together in under an hour, that’s my kind of craft.

With a little bit of tape from the Scotch® Create and Scotch® Expressions line I was able to craft up a few different designs.

Supplies
Scotch® Expressions Tapes- glitter, metallic, and washi
cardstock or blank cards
double sided tape
metallic markers
cookie cutters

Instructions
Place tape on a piece of card stock, large enough to cover the size of your selected cookie cutters.

Place cookie cutter over tape, trace the shape with a pen.

Cut shape out.  Alternatively you could use an electronic cutter, punches, or die cutter for detailed shapes.
Place few strips of double sided tape on the back side of the shape, place on card.

Add embellishments with metallic markers and alphabet stickers.

There are endless possibilities with this great line of tapes. I’ll be adding a few more designs to my holiday gift collection including a snowflake and snowman. Think of all the everyday celebration cards you could easily make too. Say goodbye to store bought and hello to simple handmade cards. Colorful washi tape becomes candles, while the metallic tape flickers on top for an adorable birthday card.
