Last week I simultaneously received the cool mom award and made one dad very jealous. We could’ve made it a date night, but I decided to take my oldest to see the Monsters University premiere at a special press screening. I’m so glad we did because it was a BLAST and hands down best movie we’ve seen this summer. It made for one really fun mommy date night with my little man.
It’s been 12 years since the stars monsters Mike and Sulley graced the screen in Monsters Inc., while not one of my favorite Disney•Pixar films, Monsters University has quickly made it to the head of the class. It has just the right amount of wit and college humor for the entire family.
ABOUT THE FILM:
Mike Wazowski (voice of Billy Crystal) has dreamed of becoming a scarer since he was a little monster. College bound now he is finally attending his dream school Monsters University (MU). But book smart Mike’s plans are soon set on another course when he collides with natural born scarer James P. Sullivan, “Sulley” (voice of John Goodman). Both soon find themselves working together with a band of misfits to make things right.
Even though summer is just beginning, school’s inMonsters University releases TODAY, 6/21. And make sure to arrive on time so you don’t miss the new Pixar Short “The Blue Umbrella”. The most beautiful love story I’ve seen in a while. Set to a gorgeous soundtrack this short is one of my favorites to date.
