Who doesn’t love a delicious frozen treat?  Anything chilly sure is a family favorite in this household.  This weekend we created a new yummy recipe for chocolate pudding pie pops.  It was the perfect midday snack on a very hot weekend and made enough to last us through the school week.  So refreshing and a taste of MY childhood.

As a kid my favorite snack recipe was for mini chocolate pudding pies.  I would take a Jell-O pudding cup, sprinkle with graham cracker crumbs and #AddCoolWhip.  It was the perfect kid dessert I could make on my own.  My dad, brother and I still enjoy this special treat.  In fact, my brother requests this every Thanksgiving in place of pumpkin pie.

With just 3 ingredients these pudding pie pops are easy to make with the kids too.  My son had fun dropping Cool Whip and Jell-O pudding into the molds.  It’s always a good idea to help out when you’re a kid so you don’t miss out on the best job, licking the spoon.

Ingredients
Jell-O chocolate pudding
Cool Whip
graham cracker crumbs

Directions
Drop a couple tablespoons of Cool Whip into your popsicle mold. Don’t worry about getting all the Cool Whip in the bottom. You want a little mess so you get a fun marbled look and a taste of everything in each bite.

Fill the remainder of the mold with chocolate pudding.

Gently tap your mold on the counter to release any air bubbles.

Top with a sprinkle of graham crackers.

Insert a popsicle stick about 2/3 of the way into your filled mold.

Freeze for 4 hours until firm.

This is one simple snack recipe that is kid approved.  I know we’ll be making many more trips to Walmart to pickup the perfect ingredients for this delicious frozen treat.  Cool Whip plus Jell-O equals one delicious after school snack.

Don’t these look like the best simple snack recipe?  They taste just like the little mini pies I used to make as a kid.  I know this is one snack recipe that will make it into rotation often.   A creamy frozen treat without all the mess of a traditional popsicle.
