Well… As a child I was always really good about going to the dentist. I have always been good about brushing my teeth, but as I’ve gotten older have not kept up with the habit of seeing the dentist 2x/year. Recently, we moved back to Phoenix and I started to see my old dentist, he was my dentist for about 15 years. Him and the hygienist suggested an electronic toothbrush would be a good investment. My teeth were in pretty good shape, but I had some plaque build-up in some common areas and my gums were a little inflamed.
Reason to invest in an electronic toothbrush (as outlined by my dental health professionals):
-Could be brushing to hard.
-Not brushing long enough.
-Neglecting areas of your mouth while brushing.
In walks the fancy Oral-B® Professional™ Precision 5000. This toothbrush has all the bells and whistles, but simple enough my preschooler could operate. It hit all the points my hygienist talked to me about.
First off my old toothbrushes (yes multiple) were evidence that I was brushing way too hard. My bristles were flattened and I was replacing them every couple months; I never felt a standard toothbrush cleaned efficiently enough. There was always that left over feeling of plaque along the gum line or on the back molars. Why I love the 5 different modes: Daily Clean, Sensitive, Whitening, Massage, Deep Clean. My teeth feel so much cleaner after using for only a couple weeks. I like to use Deep Clean at least once a week as it removes more plaque (99.7%) especially from those hard to reach areas.
The Oral-B® Pro has several features that have helped me fix all my toothbrushing problems. The addition of the SmartGuide™ gives you instant feedback to help you brush properly. It features a count-down (or up) to track your brush time. This feature has been especially helpful for my husband who always seemed to finish way before me when brushing his teeth. There’s also a handy quadrant tracker to help you move evenly around your mouth, that way no teeth get left out.
There is no more brushing too hard and irritating my gums either. With a built-in pressure sensor the toothbrush stops while also giving you visual feedback (red light and unhappy face on the SmartGuide™).
From now until December 31, there is a mail-in rebate offer for $20 from Oral-B on select power toothbrushes. Please visit OralB.com rel= “nofollow” for more information. Don’t forget to follow Oral-B on Facebook and Twitter to get all the latest news and deals.
