I love sandal season; it means fun pedicures all summer long. I love adding a little pop to my designs, but polka dots and french manicures were the extent of my repertoire. So in walks Washi Tape to the rescue. Now I’ll be the first to admit I’m a little late on this trend. In fact these chevron nails are my first endeavor using washi and it’s only been a couple days since my first set arrived. It’s the perfect companion for a manicure/pedicure. Like painters tape it masks well, but easily removes creating perfect lines.
All you need for this project is some washi, decorative scissors, and your two favorite nail polish colors.
Start with a dry base color. Cut the washi tape into strips using the decorative scissors. Make sure your middle strip is trimmed with the scissors on both sides. Place strips of tapes parallel onto nails. Make sure to press down all the way to the edge of your nail creating a seamless mask.
With the second color paint over the negative space between the tape coating the entire area. Remove the tape and enjoy your design. Use a top coat to preserve and lengthen the life of your pedicure/manicure.
