Ah, the busy life of a mom. Something I wouldn’t change the world for, but the world sure isn’t stopping if this mom gets sick. Knock on wood… it hasn’t happened this year. Somehow avoiding the crowds and carrying sanitizing wipes in my back pocket has left this family feeling pretty happy, but I’ve been there. In fact last year I was very thankful to have a Healthcare Clinic Phoenix right down the street.
It was my first winter season as a mom of two. We were doing our best to ward of the sickies with a little baby at home, but my husband being a teacher and having an active 3 year old meant the reclusive life away from germs wasn’t possible. Somehow, the unthinkable happened, I got sick… gasp. In fact I had strep throat, something I hadn’t experienced since being a kid, and surely something I wouldn’t wish upon my 3 year old, or 3 month old.
Two things go through my mind when one of the parents are down. Get well quickly, and keep the kids healthy. Of course saving money is a plus too. No one wants to spend a ton of money on healthcare, right?
Getting in to see a doctor seems to be virtually impossible when you are sick. And sitting in a waiting room for an hour with two kiddos while you’re sick surely isn’t a cup of tea. Moms need a quick solution, the flexibility to schedule an appointment or walk-in with a typical wait time of 20-minutes or less. It’s not so bad that you can round up all your chores for the day while you waiting. Browsing the aisles to stock up on supplies. I love a quick solution that translates into me getting healthy, my husband avoiding sick leave, and doesn’t eat up the day.
Sickness doesn’t work Monday-Friday, 9 to 5 and neither does the Healthcare Clinic. Open 7 days a week and weeknights too. Most clinics are open 12 hours on weekdays and 8 hours on weekends. So whether mom has strep throat, the toddler has a bad cough, or dad’s asthma is acting up you can be seen the same day. I was in and out of my Healthcare Clinic Phoenix before my doctors office even opened.
Many healthcare plans are accepted at the Healthcare Clinic, but if you haven’t met your deductible or don’t have a health plan, costs can quickly add up. With prices starting at $79, which is for most less than a trip to Urgent Care or the Emergency Room, you can save too. I love the transparency of costs. It’s good to know what services they offer and with two young kiddos at home the chances of “foreign body removal” from an ear or eye is entirely possible.
The youngest of the household is almost 18 months old so the Healthcare Clinic will soon be an option for the entire family. Keeping those germs contained and the whole house on the mend quicker.
While we love our family doctor, the truth is a same day appointments most often means we will be seeing one of the nurse practitioners. So why wait for an appointment when you can save time and get well quicker on your own timeline.
Healthcare Clinic is located in over 400 Walgreens Locations across the country, with convenient on-site pharmacies. The nurse will send any prescriptions right over getting you on your way to happy and healthy. Happy and healthy means more time making memories with these cuties, without the medical grade mask.
