Get your backyard ready for spring with this Spring Project To Do List + a cole ideas for a little backyard fun.
Spring is here! It’s time to get outdoors and conquer a few projects before the weather warms up.  Living in Arizona Spring is our primetime outdoor season.  The weather is gorgeous all day, and despite a few scattered showers we tend to have clear skies.  Not to mention the sun is staying up a little later making it perfect for backyard parties and BBQ’s.  I’ve rounded up some of my favorite backyard activities plus a few easy projects to get your yard Spring entertainment worthy.

Before the fun begins it’s important to make sure your yard is ready for entertaining.  These simple tips will turn your backyard into the ultimate neighborhood hangout. Make the most of your outdoor space with these fun projects for Spring.

Prep Outdoor Furniture– It’s time to hose off the chairs and treat any wood furniture.  This is one task the whole family can get involved in.  Fill up a bucket with soapy water, hand the kids a few sponges to clean off the table, chairs, and even give their outdoor toys a good sprucing.  Line everything up in the lawn afterwards and give them a good rinsing.  This is also a great way to conserve water and give your lawn a little watering at the same time.

Feed the Lawn– For me an expansive backyard is essential to a successful Spring.  Nothing cools down a backyard better than a lush lawn, plus its the perfect place to enjoy great outdoor games.  Get your lawn ready for a fun Spring outdoors with Scotts® Green MAX™ Lawn Food.

Elevated Garden– Spring isn’t quite Spring without a garden.  While planting for Spring harvest generally begins in late winter their are several great Summer crops perfect for planting in the Spring: squash, peppers, strawberries, melon.  Raised garden beds are fantastic and an easy way to start growing (i.e. good drainage, prevent weeds, great barrier to some pests), and building an elevated garden is a great way to create a space accessible to the whole family.

Garden Markers– Once you plant you’ll want to easily track what is growing.  This makes watering different plots simple, as most plants require different watering schedules and needs.  Try rocks, paint sticks, or old spoons for fun DIY garden markers.

Now that your backyard is prepped and ready for company it’s time to gather up a few fun activities.  Most of these activities can be accomplished with things you have on hand or picked up for under $10 to assemble.

Water Blob– This is one for hours of fun (wet or dry).  Who wouldn’t love lounging, bouncing, or sliding on a giant outdoor water bed!
