This week had it’s ups and downs. My intention was to workout in the morning and at night, but life came screaming at me. Literally. Night-times with my son had improved over the summer, and now that I think about it nap-time also. Unfortunately, my son has some kind of mommy sensor and seemed to know I was going back to work this week. Needless to say those simple 10-15 minutes of going to sleep quickly turned into at times 2 hour battles. My intention of working out once he went to bed became out of reach as I looked at the clock and it was 9 or 10 o’clock. After the mental exhaustion of trying to put him down I just collapsed into the bed or desk chair to unwind.
The upside is I did workout everyday this week for at least 30 minutes, most days 45 minutes to an hour. My activity ranged from time on Wii Fit to yard work. This week my goal is about stepping it up. Stepping up the intensity and intervals of my workout, stepping up the awareness of what I’m eating. I want that 5 pound badge next week!
I’ve also been hard at work making a fitness wish list. So far I “need” a new pedometer, maybe one of those fun Nike watches and EA Sports Active 2. I just saw that Amazon has Active on sale for only $20 for Wii.
This week, thanks to some #mamavation advice, I will be working to be conscious of my activity level and food intake. I will be waking up early to get 30 minutes of Wii or a walk/jog in. I’m going to start out with 5 am and see how it goes. Might have to be earlier since I will be leaving home at 6 am. This will be a big adjustment for me, I’ve been spoiled this summer. Late nights, late mornings. Now it’s early nights, early mornings. Something has got to give so my blogging and twitter activity will most likely suffer, but it’s all for the best. On my 2 hour+ commute I will keep myself busy with Podcasts and healthy snacks when needed. I’ve made a schedule and I’m sticking to it.
