It’s a new year, which means resolutions. This year it’s simple. I’m simplifying my life. Getting rid of the bulk (many meanings here), paying off debt, and reducing the stress of “things”.
We jumped both feet in to the new year and our simplified life. Everything, but the kitchen sink has been put up for sale. We’re taking it back to basics. Getting rid of TV’s, cutting back on the number of toys, clothing, etc. Nothing extreme, just reducing the clutter.
It feels good to drop the pounds and the extra weight in our household.
Most holidays I indulge my every craving. I give myself permission to plow through the cookies, cakes, and potlucks. This year I had no desire to. In fact I felt the opposite. I did indulge a craving for chocolate cake, but I passed on cookies and candy that came across my path. Simply I wasn’t going to set a goal for gaining weight this holiday and wasn’t focused on losing either. For the most part it worked.
I’m not disappointed, but I’m also not celebrating. I gained a pound during our little out of town adventure. This just means the holiday season is officially over. The tree is down, the decorations are put away now it’s time to kick it in gear. Our 5K is in just 3 small weeks. I can’t believe it. Time to kick up the weight training and the walks/runs.
