It’s no secret we are attempting to lead a healthy lifestyle. When my son was born we committed to eating whole foods and organic. In fact we even began this lifestyle way back when we found out I was pregnant. I’d be the first to admit though we continued to eat out often and make excuses for the occasional frequent binges of candy and cookies. Not to mention we weren’t active. We bought an elliptical and weight bench, but for the most part they sat collecting dust. And I hate dust. They made their departure from our home when we moved.
I think it’s important now that we are making these changes. Our son is here and very aware of the things we are putting in our mouth and knows when we are lounging around the house, and not venturing outdoors. He happens to be a big motivator and often requests us to retrieve our shoes and go outside. Another request is to dance. He’s our motivator to be good role models and make healthy choices.
For that reason alone I want him to grow up in a household that is organic, whole food, and active, while based in realistic choices. He won’t be sheltered forever from food dyes, sugar, preservatives, and just plain junk. I want him to see us making choices and showing restraint. I do like a good Reeses cup and could level a whole bag if I wanted too, but I want him to see that you can enjoy these things in moderation.
How would you brand your health and wellness lifestyle? How do you want others to know you in this area?
