I recently spent a weekend learning all about the business of blogging with some really fabulous women. I knew I wanted to go in style to my first bloggy conference so I teamed up with my favorite store DownEast Basics to sponsor my outfits. With their support I was able to pickup pieces for both days.
I played around the week leading up to our group’s shopping trip on Polyvore. I planned out several outfits and wish I could’ve taken them all home. I had everything laid out making the final cuts as the store was closing. And of course the associate was eager to help us grab items and make choices. She had myself, and others, trying on pieces we wouldn’t normally pick up.
It’s not often I can walk into a boutique style store and find something straight off the rack. I’m on the almost plus side so I was excited to find so many options. These were three of the top contenders. Everyone loved the coral lacey top, but it was beyond my comfort zone. Wasn’t too sure about the big sleeves, but it was very flattering. I’ll be going back later for the dress on the right though. I stole the style right off one of the mannequins. And as you can see the middle one became a modified version of one of my conference outfits.
In our own way our little westside blogger group was trending at Bloggy Boot Camp. Everyone was curious about the #downeastbasics hashtag showing up across Instagram. Here are just a few of the snapshots. Somehow we all managed to find our unique style to represent.
Go checkout the outfits my bloggy friends picked for their BBC Phoenix choices: Kimberly from A Night Owl Blog, Allison from All for the Boys, Sara fromClever Pink Pirate, Laura from Pink Cake Plate, Destiny from A Place For Us and Sara from Momendeavors.
