The easiest handpainted flour sack towels for the kitchen. So cute and fun! Plus see how I'm ditching the dirty for a clean and #StreakFreeShine #ad
We just made a big move. A move to a new home with lots of surfaces and a HUGE sliding glass door, but with the help of Windex® we’re conquering all the big and small jobs with ease.

Glass is often an overlooked surface in households. When was the last time you washed your exterior windows? How about your microwave or range?   Don’t  let dirt and smudges pull the wool of your eyes; get clean and ditch the dirt with the power of Windex®.

For clean-up try Windex® Vinegar Multi-Surface Cleaner.  Vinegar has always been our go-to cleaner, but I couldn’t stand the lingering smell.  This ammonia-free cleaner has all the cleaning power of vinegar without the overpowering smell!  It works great for everyday messes or less common spills and splatters like paint.  Then with the help of my favorite cleaning tool, the flour sack towel, cleaning up is a breeze.

I’m so excited about how these hand-painted flour sack towels turned out.  They were super easy to create and are my number 1 towel choice for using in the kitchen.

Supplies:
flour sack towels
apple
pear
fabric paint

Directions:
Place a piece of freezer paper under your flour sack towel.

Cut your apple and pear in half.  Keep the half with the stem for stamping.  Coat the apple or pear stamp with fabric paint.

Place the fruit paint side down and press gently.  Make sure to press down on the stem before lifting.  Repeat with the same color or a different color.  Use the second half of the fruit when switching colors.

After the paint has dried to the touch, about 30 minutes, press it with a medium heat iron to set the design.

Place a piece of parchment paper over the painted area.  Move the iron over the design in circular motions for 3-5 minutes.  Alternately you could toss the towels in the dryer on a medium heat cycle for 30 minutes.

Use the final project for drying hands in the kitchen or drying dishes.  Once it’s seen it’s life in the kitchen, repurpose it as a cleaning rag.  Flour sack towels dry amazingly well and leave a lint free and streak free shine. That’s why I like using them for more than just drying.  They work great for wiping down hard surfaces like countertops and appliances.

Now to conquer that big window (it’s 12 feet wide and 9 feet tall) I’m enlisting the help of Windex® Original Glass Wipes.  Then, once we get the backyard landscaped I’ll be grabbing a bottle of Windex® Outdoor Glass & Patio Concentrated Cleaner for the outside of the sliding glass door.  It attaches conveniently to a hose, then just spray, rinse, and let dry.

To stock up on all the cleaning supplies I needed to get our new home all shiny I headed to my local Fry’s. They had a great selection of Windex® products for keeping a clean home and ditching the dirty.

These towels are so adorable and I bet my stepmom would love them. I think I’ll get to crafting this weekend with my son and see what we can make! [client]
