Okay let’s be honest how often do you take a little me time? With a house full of boys I’m lucky to get a few minutes to sneak away. I’m happy to get just a few reguvenitaing moments with a chapter in a book, a bath, gardening, or enjoying a sip of my favorite tea.

Last year we planted a garden and everyday I take a little me time time to check on my plants before the wee ones tag behind. My other babies this year come in the form of watermelons, peppers, and an avocado seedling.

It’s been a fun experience gardening; each year brings its new challenges and frustrations. For two years I’ve had beautiful and healthy watermelon vines. We had a wild jungle of vines growing for months without the smallest fruit bearing. This year I’m happy to report that we have had many successful watermelons grow. There are currently 5 large watermelons doubling in size each day. After loosing my first first fruit to overwhelming heat we installed an a-frame trellis to provide shade and protection from the heat. The fruits hang below the vines and as they get bigger a little hammock is all they need to support their growing weight.

When I’m done I like to sit under the fans outdoors, pull up an adirondack chair and take a moment to cool off with #AmericasTea, Bigelow. I’ve never been a big fan of tea, but my mother in law introduced me to herbal teas and with a couple drops of stevia it makes for a refreshing treat.

Then the kids find me and we have a good laugh before we all play outdoors. Herbal tea is a great alternative to juice for a refreshing summer drink for the kids too. It has no added sugar and helps hydrate them for a busy day of playing.

Bigelow is a family owned, American company. They pride themselves on quality tea and preserve freshness with foil pouches. We found a huge selection of Bigelow tea at Walmart. From black teas to green and a variety of herbal teas and iced tea blends. I’m looking forward to trying the green tea with hints of honey and lemon during cold and flu season. It should pair nicely with the fall and winter harvest.
