{FREE} One-Year Subscription to O Magazine

The update below popped up in my feed and I thought, why not. I like FREE, I like Oprah, I like magazines. What I didn’t realize before I clicked through was the great cause behind this offer.

You need to checkout the Random Acts of O facebook application. From what I can see each month a new cause is selected. For July it’s all about reading in support of Teach for America. Once the cause reaches 50,000 pledges to read a summer book, they will donate $5,000 to Teach for America.

I decided to do a post about this cause, to give back to Teach for America. While I wasn’t directly involved as a teacher I was supported as a student pursing a career in education. With a few hours (1,200) of volunteer time, I was rewarded a scholarship to help with my education.
