This is a story about a little house. A house our family has called home for almost 3 years. It wasn’t our first home, but it was our first family home. Lots of firsts memories were made here.
Here’s Dos just starting to be broken in. See that garage, the one you can park two cars in, that is no longer. That garage barely fits our new swagger wagon now. I can’t believe how tiny the plants are in the front of the house. Mostly because they are the bane of my existence now. Can you tell I love yard work. Those tiny little Texas Rangers put out several bags of cuttings a year.
One of the strongest memories tied to this house is bringing our first little guy home. His first room, first steps, and first solid food were all experienced in this home.
Here’s another first, Aiden’s first birthday. That boy was loved on so much, notice the evidence of all the presents thrown about the room.
Fast forward three years and this home, properly named “Dos”, has seen a lot of firsts. It has been filled, filled with love.
Checkout those plants now. Beautifully trimmed, right? That’s all me baby.
Here’s a room that has been through a lot of changes. The rocker has been replaced with costumes. The crib with a toddler bed. The closet no longer boasts tiny little onesies, but big boy clothing waiting to be tried on.
The kitchen, oh how I love our kitchen. I missed having an island in our first home. It’s going to be so hard cooking with electric for awhile. I will miss my gas. I will also miss the view from our kitchen. The open windows look right out to the street. It makes for such an open feeling to our kitchen and family room.
Just as with our first home Grimace, I am so excited to pass it on to the next family. Ready for them to make some new memories.
This all leads to this. Our house for sale and onto the next chapter of our life. Praying it will go easily as a standard sale. Praying it will go before school starts.
What memories do you/will you take with you when you move from your home?
