You’ve heard of “Pay it Forward” well this is Bag It Forward. Elmer’s has teamed up this summer with 50 bloggers to spread the word. The goal, shop! It’s as easy as grabbing a couple extra supplies as you do your kids school supply shopping, donate, then link up photos on the Bag it Forward website of all the goodies you donated.
We did our shopping at Super Walmart and found so many great deals to fill our 2 bags. We didn’t need much as I stock up every year when the big sales are on.
We did pick up 2 backpacks and filled them to the brim with all the essentials:
Reusable Water Bottle
Spiral Notebooks
Crayons, Markers, Colored Pencils
GermX
Folder
Ruler
Scissors
Pencils
Aiden came by to check out what was going on. He approved of the water bottle selection.
All that was left to do was drop off our donation. We selected the International Rescue Committee in Tucson, AZ. This cause was close to my heart as many refugee students have sat in my classroom before. Of the 80+ backpacks they need over the course of this school year they have received only 20. The IRC will continue to accept donations throughout the year to supply new students coming into the districts.
Wait, there’s more.
This year Elmer’s has partnered with the Kids in Need Foundation to provide essential school supplies to students who need them the most, but they need your help. For every “like” on the Elmer’s Facebook page through Sept. 1, the company will donate one Elmer’s product. Plus, they will make an additional donation for every unique view the video receives on the Elmer’s Kids In Need tab. Please like the Elmer’s Facebook page, watch the video, and share it with your friends and family. With just one click, you will help a child in need!
Elmer’s will donate up to 200,000 products for this promotion to the Kids In Need Foundation
