My son has been eagerly awaiting the newest straight to DVD Disney movie. Who am I kidding the whole family couldn’t wait for it to release April 1st. After a little in theatre sneak peak Saturday we were excited to welcome the newest addition from the World of Peter Pan, Disney’s The Pirate Fairy with a little home viewing party. Thanks to #CollectiveBias we are the proud owners of the Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital HD copy. We picked it up at Walmart with a little exclusive bonus DVD the Pixie Hollow Bake Off, which includes 10 animated shorts. Make sure to claim your rewards code for even more fun bonus offers.
I think the whole family enjoys the Disney Fairy movies because of the message. The Pirate Fairy holds true to the bonds of friendship overcoming all odds. The whole gang bands together to #ProtectPixieHollow and retrieve the blue pixie dust. Complete with adventure, great music, and just a little bit (well actually a huge helping) of pixie dust. The Pirate Fairy did not disappoint.
It wouldn’t be a Denton family movie night without a little dressing up and themed food. We started the night out with pixie cups and a little pixie dust alchemy. Aiden helped make a prediction and carryout the experiment with pop rocks and our homemade strawberry lemonade.
We couldn’t find fairy wings in our size so we left it up to Aiden to carry the theme for us into the movie viewing. A Peter Pan top and some blue fairy wings and he was all set. We’ve had the movie all but 3 days and we’ve watched it a couple handfuls of times. No complaining here; that friendship theme carries over into our family. A heartwarming moment when the movie credits rolled and Aiden embraced Emerson for a huge hug. Cuteness all around.
The pixie cups were definitely a hit at dinner, but the blue pixie dust popcorn definitely took home the prize. A little inspiration taken from my husbands favorite Disney park treat and my favorite Pop Rocks chocolate. Just like the pixie dust in the movie our popcorn was taken from a sizzle to a pop. Checkout the recipe below and bring a touch of fairy magic to your next movie night.
