When planning an everyday dessert I go with simple and semi-homemade. A few pre bought ingredients with a little homemade twist and you have a dessert you’ll be proud to serve. Kraft’s NEW Cool Whip Frosting just made everyday cakes and cupcakes easier. I found a variety while shopping for my ingredients.
Angel Food Cake
Cool Whip Frosting
3/4 c. strawberry puree
1/2 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. sugar
Slice angel food cake into thirds.
Mix your chocolate mousse. I used a mix, however you can make an easy chocolate mousse with Cool Whip.
Pipe your mousse onto the bottom layer. Place in the freezer to firm up while you prepare the strawberry mousse.
Mix 2 Tbsp. sugar and 1/2 tbsp. lemon juice into strawberry puree.
Whip, whipping cream until peaks form. Fold in 3/4 c. strawberry puree. Rewhip until firm.
Place second layer on top of chocolate mousse. Pipe strawberry mousse onto new layer. Place in freezer to firm up.
Pipe Cool Whip Frosting onto top layer. Place on top of strawberry layer. Leave plain or decorate with sprinkles. Cool in refrigerator for 3-4 hours.
