Clean & Freshen with Eureka Power

We all have at least one chore I’m sure we dread; mine is vacuuming.  The multiple surfaces, the switching of settings, the cord winding, the loss of suction; these are all things that add up to my distain for the task.  When I have a good vacuum I find it’s actually calming and I’d quickly give up laundry or dish duty for the floors.  I recently picked up a Eureka SuctionSeal 2.0 vacuum at Walmart on rollback.

I didn’t waste any time to put the power of the Eureka to the test.  I was excited to see if it lived up to the cleaning power claim.  My current vacuum wasn’t cutting it and the house was ready for a good deep clean.  Out of the box it took just a couple minutes to setup and I was ready to get cleaning.

I tested it out on every surface in our house, even the car!  What took 2 or 3 tools to clean is now replaced with one powerful tool.  The tile received the Eureka treatment first.  Our current vacuum lacked the suction power to reach the corners and floor boards and threw debris everywhere on hard surfaces.  I had resorted to using the crevice tool on my hands and knees.  The Eureka has a powerful suction seal that raises and lowers depending on the surface.  That means cleaner floors and no flying debris.  

Next up was carpet.  We have a lovely 18 year old white carpet that’s seen better days.  We are definitely trying to milk a few more years out of it so it’s very important to get all the dust and grime out.  The Eureka did a fabulous job picking up all the crumbs and lifting dirt from deep down.

Look at all the dirt it removed in just one passover of our family room.  Gross? yes! Amazing? absolutely!

Next up was the car.  I wanted to see how the on board upholstery tool worked.  A high-powered brush that lifts dirt and cleans deep down.  No matter how often I dump my sons shoes he seems to always track sand into the car.  It’s a weekly chore bringing fine sand up and out of the car upholstery.  The upholstery tool and 2 other on board tools (crevice and brush) cleaned it all up.

Once the carpet was completely dust free it was time to freshen up.  I always loved the idea of a carpet powder, but not the chemicals and artificial fragrances.  With one household item and a little essential oil I whipped up an easy DIY carpet powder.  Just mix 1 cup of baking soda and a drop or two of your favorite essential oil.  Lemon oil or tee tree oil have a lovely clean smell and great antiseptic properties.
