DIY Personalized DAD Beer Stein

Last year I went big for Father’s Day and got all my hubby’s favorites.  I slyly put together this ultimate gift guide with a few of his favorites thrown in.  One of his most beloved gets used weekly, his personalized beer stein.  It has seen a variety of new beers and even a few root beer floats.  It was the perfect pairing with a 3 month subscription to a beer delivery service; 3-4 new beers to try each month.   Supplies:
Stein ($1 store)
Vinyl
Cutting Machine

Directions:

Design and cut your vinyl using your preferred cutting machine.

Peel and place your vinyl on your clean mug.  Make sure to rub on good using your finger or a burnishing tool works great too.  

Hand wash your mug to prolong the vinyl.  

Alternatively you could use the exterior of the design as a stencil to etch the glass or use  glass paint.  Checkout this tutorial from A Night Owl Blog on etching.    

This is a great method to personalize any glass or ceramic cup or mug.  The $1 Store or Cost Plus World Market are a great place to pickup inexpensive glasses.  Try a glass mug or espresso cup for the coffee lover.  Perhaps your dad is a wine connoisseur.
